Why Facebook?


It does seem a little counter-intuitive to be part of an activity that prides itself on getting families and people away from technology to be using the internet and Facebook.

Truth is, rock hunting, painting, and hiding have gained such popularity on social media that this is the best place to start and let others know you have found or hidden a rock.

Facebook is a large social media platform and, whilst not everyone has a Facebook account, in 2015 there were over 35 million* users in the UK alone. Plus ... It's free!

There are many rock hunting apps out there and this is the problem. To participate, a rock finder would need to download an app that the foundling rock is attached to and may even have to pay for it.

You are welcome to join us and also welcome to leave whenever you wish, although, we will be sad to see you leave.

If you don't have a Facebook account, that's fine too, you will soon find that someone you know does have an account and can share it for you.
