Here are some do's and do not's when painting and hiding rocks. You will find a number of these around the blog, but here they are in one place ...
Do not:
- Add embellishments (googly eyes, foam pieces etc) to your rocks. They can be harmful to wildlife and young children.
- Hide a rock in the middle of a lawn where it can become hidden and cause an accident with a lawnmower.
- Hide your rocks where they are hard to see and find
- Hide inside shops and supermarkets
- Hide on private property
- Hide them at grave sites, unless it is a specific memorial rock and not a Taff Rocks rock.
- Hide them in dangerous places (cliff edges etc)
- Hide your rocks on the floor where they might get peed on by a dog, or other animals, try and place them up off the floor
- Add unsuitable imagery or words (bad language, racial imagery etc)
Do's
- Have fun and be safe
- Hide them where they can be seen. That might sound odd, but we need to make them easy to find so finders can enjoy the experience
- Share an image of your finds, hides and creations on our Facebook group.
