Ladybug Ball

From now until the end of the summer, Taff Rocks are asking all our rocker friends, family and supporters to paint as many ladybug / ladybird rocks as possible. This is what a 'drop-a-rock' event is all about, find or create, share, hide, repeat.

This page will help with community creating events as well as some online tutorials.

You can paint them for whatever rock painting group you are affiliated to, they don't have to be for Taff Rocks.

These ladybugs / ladybirds do not have to even be the 'regular' red and black as we are used to seeing but as many and varied colours as is possible.

After the second week in August, start sharing them out and about in our communities for them to go travelling, for others to find and help raise a smile and some, to adorn our homes because, let's be fair, some rock as just too wonderful to let go.

If this is the case, please share them on our Facebook group or the Facebook group written on the reverse of the rock you find.

Real ladybirds / ladybugs start hatching during August, it would be amazing to see your creation and nature's creation meet up at the same time. During September, we will see a lot more of nature's ones as they start looking for somewhere to call 'home' for the hibernation season

To help you with your creations, we have three summer community workshops to help you create your works of rock art which includes, rocks, paints and assistance if needed

Read more in the links below, shows exact times and locations:

If you would rather create at home, here are some useful links to tutorials we have created previously that might help:
* These were some of our very first videos made, we had no idea what we were doing back then, we still don't know we guess but we get by
