Klued Creations Acrylic Paint Marker Pens Review

As one of the Admin team on Taff Rocks, I feel it is my 'duty' to check out the pens, paints, and markers that are out there as well as the new, up and coming ones, after all, Taff Rocks is also up and coming.

I recently acquired a pack of 12 Acrylic Paint Marker Pens by Klued Creations available from Amazon for £12.99. Even though the Amazon page states they will work on most surfaces, I have only used them on rocks

Their Facebook Page states that they are a 'relatively new company' who are big fans of 'kindness rocks'. So, when I found them, I had to try them!

The pens, as already mentioned, come in a pack of 12. This pack includes black and white as well as silver and gold. These are the colours that you usually end up having to purchase separately, which is already where 'Rocking' (rock painting) starts to break the bank. The fact that they all come in this pack is a plus - Money saving alert!

Let's have a look at what they are all about ...

Interchangeable Tips: Already a plus! They come in chisel tip and bullet tip - all in the same pen! Money saving alert!  The tips are so easy to change, if a little messy once you get them going, but that was to be expected. The flexibility and the ability to change them without having to buy separate pens is a welcome money saver, already adding to the value for money!

Range of colours: Black and white included, so too are silver and gold. Money saving alert! The range of the other colours is pretty cool too. Red, blue, green, yellow, cyan, pink, purple and orange. So vibrant.

I decided on a quick test to see exactly how vibrant these colours are, as well as how good the coverage is. I painted a rock using the black, it only needed one coat, so the coverage was excellent on that colour.

Coverage: Now, here comes the test for me, how well will the other colours cover on the black? You will see from the image above, they cover exceptionally well! Which means you don't have to use a second coat if you don't want to as the first coat works well. Money saver!

Quick drying: I think it passed this test! I didn't have to wait around for the rock to dry before adding colours on top.

Water resistant: My pack only arrived today, check back for a review on this at a later date.

Fade resistant: My pack only arrived today, check back for a review on this at a later date.

Pros and Cons:

Pros:
  • Good range of colours
  • Interchangeable tips
  • Value for money
  • Excellent coverage, even over a black base coat.
  • Great size, even for little hands
  • Non-toxic
  • Water resistant
  • Fade resistant
Cons:
  • Can be messy changing the tip, but only once the pen has been 'started'.

In conclusion: I believe these pens are going to give their competitors a run for their money. With the range of colours in one pack, the liquid content and interchangeable tips, they are up there and, in some aspects, better than the rest.

Reason for this review: Even though I have reviewed many pens etc, this is my first written review. I found an advertisement on Facebook offering a 20% discount, for which I applied and used. This review is my way of thanking the company, even though I was not expected to write one in exchange for the discount.

This is my personal review and may not necessarily reflect the views of other Taff Rocks members.
