Lonesome Sheep Wins Competition By A Landslide!

Congratulations to three-year-old Taliesin on winning the Taff Rocks "All Things Welsh" competition with his amazing little Sheep rock! Young "Tali", helped by his mum, entered Taff Rocks second competition to find a celebration header over on our Facebook group. 

We were looking for rocks depicting and celebrating everything Welsh, with one of the prizes being the use of the photo for the days leading up to, and including St David's Day.

Painted Ladybird Rocks

Painted Ladybird (Ladybug) rocks ... the 'staple' rock for seasoned Rockers (rock painters) and beginners alike. They're as simple or as complex as you wish. But a basic ladybird is always a favourite.

For this rock, you just need black, for the head section, white, for the eyes and a colour of your choice for the body (in this tutorial, this additional colour is red). A pencil might be of use and, not forgetting, paintbrushes.

Mandala Rocks WIll Drive You Dotty

It's true! Mandala rocks can drive you totally dotty! I have been trying, for some days now, to master the art of Mandala rocks. No paintbrush required, you don't even need to know to draw!

I felt I failed at the one design I was trying, so decided to try a flower Mandala design instead. I'm still practicing! And all of us at Taff Rocks HQ are not afraid of sharing fails as well as successes.

Easy, Finger Painted, Valentine's Day Heart Rocks

Valentine's Day love hearts on rocks couldn't be easier using this method. It's even suitable for little fingers, under supervision of course. After all, we don't want our little ones licking the paint from their fingers, even if it is non-toxic!

All Things Welsh Competition

The celebration of All Things Welsh will be a special celebration for Taff Rocks. After all, Taff Rocks has its home in the heart of Wales.  And ... What better day to celebrate it than the 1st of March! Otherwise known here, in Wales, as Saint David's Day, our patron saint.

The Taff Rocks Painted Rock Garden & Trading Post

The Trading Post and Rock Garden is something we at Taff Rocks HQ have been 'bouncing around' with since Taff Rocks went 'live' in August 2018.  The idea is still in its infancy, see below for what we need to move forward.

The concept is a simple one. A place where rockers (rock painters), hiders and seekers can go to leave, exchange or take a rock or rocks then share them, as usual on the groups Facebook page and ultimately, re-hide, take traveling or take home and love. Not just Taff Rocks, but rocks from any rock group.

If an individual doesn't paint rocks, then they only have to visit the Trading Post / Rock Garden to locate a rock and take traveling and share.
